What do we think about fillers and how do we decide as Trained Professionals, what filler to use while there is so many brands flooding the industry at the minute?  They are all stating they are the best, longer lasting and with the latest technology, but how do we know which ones are suitable for us???

The answer is Easy do your research, talk to others, and look at the science.  When I decided to change fillers, many reasons pushed me into the decisions that guide my sales and results within the clinic. No 1, for me is my supplier.  Aesthetic supplies are really hard to get.  Whether the customs cost is too high, the delivery is unreliable, The risk of fake CE Marks or the conversion of pricing is other worldly.  We need to ensure the right supplier is who we have in our corner and what they bring to the Irish market is acceptable.  But how do I Decide what fillers is suitable after I have tackled this important foundation for my clinic.  Lets see…

When it comes to Dermal Fillers, your end goal as the practitioner, is to decide what area of the face or body it is needed. Then after consultation with our clients, taking into account their lifestyle and metabolism, their general health, and any other medical information, this is how we know what degree of filler thickness it needs to be.  So we talk all the time about different level of thickness, for example in some brands there is always a Fine, a Deep, and a Sub Q brand. Each has its own effectiveness and if going by the clients consultation, and area of the face/body, then these will be your starting point to a successful treatment.

Let us talk about a fine filler, this is a soft hyaluronic acid filler with a moisturising effect and a long-lasting formulation. Injected in the Mid Dermis. It is used for correcting facial wrinkles and volume loss around the eyes, the nose and the mouth including periorbital and perioral lines. Some people even use it for moulding techniques for the Vermilion Border. It stimulates cell regeneration and supports the production collagen and elastin, leaving the skin smooth and healthy.  Depending on the level of your aesthetic training this can be used almost anywhere in the face. Great for the over 20/30’s this is the perfect filler to give a few tweaks without it looking too severe.

Deep Filler, is a thicker and more viscous gel which lasts longer. Injected in the Lower Dermis & Subcutaneous Layer.  Perfect for the 30s/40s. This product is ideal for treating moderate to deep wrinkles, naso labial folds, Cheeks, Rhinoplasty (if your brave) and jawlines and for adding volume to lips. It stimulates cells regeneration, while it supports the production of collagen and elastin, which leaves the skin smooth and healthy.  This is ideally perfect for candidates whose metabolism is too strong and who previously have had filler and it breaks down to easy.  Use in the cheeks, to give a subtle lift and can slim your face. The correct placement of this filler will make you more contoured, defined and refined. So if your not genetically defined, and a lot of aren’t, then this is the ultimate strength to ensure you are perfect at all angles.

Sub Q, now this is incredible it is the thickest of all fillers. Injected in the Subcutaneous layer. It is Designed for tissue augmentation, volume and facial contouring. Excellent for the 40s/50s and upwards. This product has an advanced ability to mould, maintain structure and for longevity. Recommended for the treatment of extremely severe lines and wrinkles including naso labial folds, restoring lost volume and facial contouring such as cheeks, chin, jawline.  I have seen some practitioners even use it for facial rebuilds.  It is truly amazing what the right training and management of the clients expectations can be achieved.

Now that we have covered all the bases for a perfectly successful treatment lets talk about the expectations of the clients.  For example someone who has various degrees of skin and muscle sagging will need to slowly build their rejuvenation back over several treatments, as we know that compressed veins and arteries or vascular occlusions, can be a complication of treatments.  So that is why, slowly at a time is advisable for any injectable treatments. SO being clear and confident in your training, your supplier, and the products they can supply you can lead you to every amount of success in your clinics.
